Must know how to swim – and be comfortable in water over your head
Experience the thrill of walking on water… or paddling while standing up!
This lesson/trip is the perfect way to get your feet wet (most literally) and learn to SUP while having a guide share the Santa Barbara waterfront with you on your paddleboarding tour.
Skills we cover:
- How to transition from kneeling to standing.
- How to use the paddle to move forward and steer.
- How to maintain stability.
- Navigation in confined waterways.
- How to fall and get back on (don’t worry, we give you a wetsuit!)
After practicing the skills on the beach for the first hour of your paddleboarding tour, we’ll venture out to the harbor mouth and poke our boards into the open ocean testing your skills as we paddle around the pier and towards East Beach.
What to Bring
- Bathing Suit and Towel
Santa Barbara Harbor
We’re conveniently located in the Santa Barbara Harbor next to the Fish Market and Brophy Bros. Our paddlers frequently see Pelicans, Sea Lions, Dolphins & Whales!
You can easily walk or bike to the Harbor from the many hotels in downtown Santa Barbara or right off the 101. Feel free to call, email or stop in with any questions.
We loved our kayaking trip with Ryan as our guide. The ferry ride was awesome, food was great and our kayaking through caves very exciting! Lots of swells.

We contacted the Sports Centre late with a large group wanting to do a quick paddle arounf the harbour. Jordan looked after us, made sure we had everything we needed, and had a great time with the kids paddling around the harbour. Great for kids aged 5 up.

We loved our kayak tour with Adam. He was really knowledgable and friendly and ensured that we had a great time (despite the rainy and cold weather).
