Overview

The Ocean Explorers Keiki Dolphin camp is for our younger explorers, sea creatures, mermaids, and pirates. Join us for five days packed full of ocean play, sports, and fun! By learning sports that help connect to the ocean and its vastness beyond, we will allow your keiki dolphin explorers a chance to build confidence in the water while giving them a unique perspective to view seals, sea lions, and possibly dolphins below or above the water. Together let’s explore & learn new skills that bring our ocean to your flippers! Keiki camp is an excellent opportunity to build stronger swimming skills. The camp provides campers five days of kayaking, stand- up paddle boarding, boogie-boarding, surfing, body surfing, snorkeling, beach play, beach cleanups, art, museums and ocean education through the Santa Barbara Harbor from Sandspit to Leadbetter.

Activities Include:

  • Kayaking
  • Stand-up paddling
  • Surfing/boogie boarding
  • Snorkeling
  • Beach play
  • Ocean education learning projects
  • Sea Center Aquarium

We provide wetsuits and lifejackets.

Our Water Safety Policy – Keiki Age Group

We don’t expect kids to come to camp as excellent swimmers, this camp was designed to help kids improve on already existing swimming skills and help them build confidence in the water.

  • Campers will all be asked to do a swim test on day 1 so we can get an idea of where each kids is at. They will be doing this with a PFD on, so it’s mostly a floating test.
  • We ask that campers have had previous swimming lessons and are comfortable floating in their life jacket.
  • ALL CAMPERS ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR A LIFE JACKET AT ALL TIMES WHILE IN THE WATER

We realize that wearing a PFD isn’t ideal for surfing, but this is our policy. We aren’t a surf camp, we’re an ocean camp that utilizes kayaks, paddleboards, and surfboards to help kids learn skills on all types of ocean craft!

*Wetsuits are provided

AWESOME! GREAT FOR KIDS!

We contacted the Sports Centre late with a large group wanting to do a quick paddle arounf the harbour. Jordan looked after us, made sure we had everything we needed, and had a great time with the kids paddling around the harbour. Great for kids aged 5 up.

We loved our kayak tour with Adam. He was really knowledgable and friendly and ensured that we had a great time (despite the rainy and cold weather).
