Gaviota Coast Kayaking & camping

Paddle the wild Gaviota Coast

The Gaviota coast is home to the largest coastal Mediterranean ecosystem anywhere in North America and happens to be the last undeveloped stretch of coastline left in Southern California.  Experience the magic of Gaviota's remote beaches, mountain and island views, rural landscapes, and abundant marine life- by kayak.  For this expedition, we will launch at Gaviota and paddle downwind to Refugio where we'll camp for the night.  On day two, we continue south from Refugio with a memorable stop for lunch at Naples (the Crown jewel of the Gaviota Coast.) The last stretch will take us around Sands, Campus Point Marine Reserve and finally we end our journey at Goleta Beach.  This excursion is not for first-timers, previous long-distance paddling experience is a must.  All paddling gear is included, with the option to include meals and snacks.  Typically we paddle in Ocean Kayak Scupper Pros or RTM Tempos, both of which hold plenty of space for food, water and gear.  If desired, you can paddle a tandem with your mate. If you're looking for an unforgettable way to experience the last frontier of California's untouched beauty, this is the trip for you!
